Vertical join stacks the photo on top of the signature, which is the most common format for SSC, IBPS and UPSC portals. Horizontal join places them side-by-side, which some portals prefer. The overlap mode overlays the signature on the photo corner for self-attestation use cases.

Yes. The tool offers None, 1px and 2px border options that draw a clean border around each segment of the joined image. This is useful when the portal requires visual separation between the photograph and signature areas.

Set the Target KB field in the Export section to 50 (or your portal’s limit) and the tool will binary-search JPEG quality until the file lands inside that range. The final size and dimensions are shown in the preview so you can verify before downloading.

Yes. Select the “Overlap” layout option in step 2. This places your signature at the bottom-right corner of the photo with slight transparency, which is the standard format for self-attested photographs required by many government exam portals.

Absolutely. There is nothing to be unsafe about — there is no upload. This is a fully client-side tool: your photo and signature are read into the browser’s memory, processed locally using Canvas, and stay on your device. Close the tab and everything is gone. No servers, no storage, no accounts.

JPG, JPEG, PNG and WEBP files are all accepted. HEIC and HEIF files from iPhones are also handled. The final output is always JPEG for maximum compatibility with government exam portals.
