Local document converter

Extract text from a PDF or image.

Drag in a file, choose the language it is written in, and run OCR. Nothing is sent to a server, and the result is yours to copy or download.

Local Sandbox Workspace

100% Secure WebAssembly

Supports PDF, PNG, JPEG, or WEBP

How it works

Three steps, no upload.

The same PDF.js and Tesseract.js engines that power desktop OCR tools, running inside your browser tab.

  1. Choose a PDF or image

Drop in a scanned PDF, a JPG or PNG photo, or a screenshot. The file is read from your device, not sent to a server.

  2. Pick the document language

Select one of 39 OCR languages so the engine knows which characters to expect. English is the default.

  3. Extract, then copy or export

Run OCR, review the text next to the original page, then copy it or download it as a .txt or .doc file.

Why local OCR

Privacy is the architecture, not a promise.

A hosted converter has to receive your file before it can read it. This one does not.

Your file stays on your device

PDF.js and Tesseract.js run in the browser tab. The document is never posted to an API.

No account or quota

Open the page and start. There is no sign-up step, no daily limit and no watermark on the output.

Multi-page PDFs

Render every page, move between pages in the workspace, and keep the text per page.

Copy, TXT or DOC

Copy the result to the clipboard, download plain text, or export a .doc file for Word and Google Docs.
